Her head, heavier than a bowling ball, pounded as though she had used it to throw a strike. Voices seeped through her bedroom door. Joyful sounds of Brad and the boys playing. She licked her lips, hoping to get the saliva moving. No luck. Cotton balls would fall from her mouth at any moment.

Not sure how to contact your group, but wanted to make you all aware of our upcoming Writer’s Symposium by the Sea. Details are below. If there’s a better way to post this info, please let me know.

The 22nd annual Writer’s Symposium By The Sea is Feb. 21-23 at Point Loma Nazarene University. The lineup is:

Feb. 21 — U.S. Poet Laureate Robert Pinsky doing an evening of poetry and jazz with the university jazz band. He has several volumes of poetry.

Feb. 22 — spirituality writer Shauna Niequist in an interview with Symposium founder and host Dean Nelson. Her new book Present Over Perfect is very popular with young women.

Feb. 23 — Pulitzer winner Tracy Kidder in an interview with Dean Nelson. His new book A Truck Full of Money is about Kayak founder Paul English. Other Kidder books include Mountains Beyond Mountains (about humanitarian Paul Farmer), House, The Soul of a New Machine, and Strength in What Remains.

The Page a Day Writers Group is a diverse collection of wonderful writers based in San Diego, CA. We've been meeting monthly since 2004. Our primary function is in-depth writing critique, marketing and brainstorming, but there's usually some wine, chocolate and ribaldry involved too. We write fantasy, humor, literary fiction, nonfiction, romance, thrillers and YA. Join us on our journeys to publication and the wonderland beyond!
