Scene or Sequel: Do You Know the Difference?

Posted on: March 22, 2011

I love those rare days when I uncover a gem of writing wisdom that successful, published writers have known for years. This week my discovery is Randy Ingermanson, aka the snowflake guy to many in the writing community.

In my quest to understand what elements comprise a compelling chapter, I stumbled upon his Advance Fiction Writing site.

In Writing the Perfect Scene, Randy lays out (in terms even this novice can understand) what a powerful chapter needs to contain. He gives a step-by-step blueprint for constructing scene-after-sequel and explains the difference between the two. Invaluable.

Thank you, Randy.
